Hiring to bounce back in 2021, claims Naukri.com’s Hiring Outlook Survey

NEW DELHI: Come 2021 jobseekers will have more to cheer about, as 26% recruiters foresee hiring bouncing back to pre-COVID levels within the next 3-6 months while 34% said that it would take their organisations 6-12 months according to Naukri.com’s Hiring Outlook Survey.In 2020, sectors like medical/healthcare, IT, BPO/ITES were less impacted while the sectors that struggled to cope included retail, hospitality and travel, according to the survey that covered 1327 recruiters and consultants across the country.Medical and healthcare saw robust hiring and saw an immediate sequential recovery of 90% in hiring in the month of May 2020, itself. "Compared to the pre-COVID period, it is only down by 13% in the post-COVID world," stated the Naukri.com release. The year-on-year requirement for professionals including ENT specialist, microbiologist, staff nurse and medical superintendent/director is up by 48% 41%, 30%, and 18% respectively. Top Medical/ Healthcare companies in search of professionals on Naukri.com are Fortis, Apollo Hospitals, Religare, Bayer Group, Mankind Pharma, Wockhardt Hospitals, and many more.Signs of recovery in the IT and BPO/ITES sectors were seen from June 2020 onwards once lockdown restrictions were lifted in many parts of the country.Top education groups such Podar Education Network, Rustomjee Kerawala Foundation, Amity University and even coaching centers such as FIITJEE are actively hiring in the education and teaching sector where sequential recovery of 71% took place in June 2020, according to Naukri.“While the IT, BPO/ITES and Medical/ Healthcare sectors led the hiring in 2020, some sectors such as Hospitality/Travel, Retail and Auto are seeing sequential revival after a sharp hit because of the pandemic. Since this year was more about transitions & navigations, we are looking forward to 2021 for sustainable growth in the job market,” said Pawan Goyal, Chief Business Officer, Naukri.com.
